Change!

This term our class is learning about change.  We have been looking at lots of different ways we can observe and make changes through science.  Space 11 have learnt about the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas.  We discovered that you can change the state of matter by adding heat or removing heat.  Here is an activity we used to see melting and freezing.

The Three Goats

One sunny beautiful day the three goats decided to move out.  They said to Mama goat,
"We want to move out."
Mama goat said "Maybe my little babies.  I will miss you if you go!"
Goat number one said "We've grown into big strong men now."
Goat number two said "We'll pack up our own bags."
Goat number three said "We'll look out for the hairy red troll."
"Ok" said Mama.
So the three little goats packed their bags and went off to follow the red path.  They weren't looking and they were chatting about how amazing it is to move out.  After a tick of time the angry red troll was chasing after them.  They galloped as fast as they could.  They finally came to a window that was open so they hopped on top of each other and they were safe.

Ethan - Player of the Day!

On Saturday, Ethan played rugby for Ngongotaha.  He played so well that he was chosen for player of the day.  We are all proud of him!!

For our school ANZAC service, we each needed to make a poppy or wreath to remember the soldiers who have died at war.  Stephen and Darcy will teach you how to make one of our giant ANZAC day poppies.

Hello Space 11!

Happy Easter Space 11! 
I hope you are all having a fun and safe holiday.  I spent the weekend at Papamoa beach.  It was beautiful weather and the water was warm enough to have a swim.  If you want to tell me and the rest of the class what you have been doing during the holidays, leave a comment on this post!

The Elephant that called for help

One cold, dark night an elephant called Elly was daydreaming of beautiful flowers.  So then she walked up a bendy, long brown branch.  Then suddenly SNAP went the branch.  Elly screamed "HELP!"  she fell in a cold yucky stream filled with fish.  Ouch! "Whats that little squeaky voice?"  Elly said.  She stood up.  "Oh no!" she cried.  "I squashed a fish.  What shall I do for you little fish?" I asked.  "Nothing.  By the way, I have a name.  It's Daisy".  Now Daisy and Elly are best friends.

Big Balloons!

"Wow that is so cool" I said to my funnest uncle in the world.  On Saturday my uncle took me, my cousin and aunty to Hamilton to watch the huge hot air balloons.

First we went to the carnival and got tickets.  Then we went on a wave slide.  I had to sit in a sack with my aunty so we didn't get burnt.  "I loved it" I said.  "Can we do that again?"  "Ok" she said.  I loved that ride but it was time to go on a different ride.

Next we went on a rocket ship.  It was so fast.  I went up and down and round and round.

After that we went and watched the huge hot air balloons and had dinner.

Last of all, we went home and played hide and go seek in the dark.
